Josip Rac, prof.
Born on May 3, 1995. in Zagreb. He began his musical education by enrolling in the Music School of Zlatko Grgošević in the class of prof. Valentin Koščak. After graduation, he entered the Vatroslava Lisinski High School of Music in the class of prof. Krešimir Fabijanić. During his elementary and high school education, he regularly participated in the Varaždin Woodwind & Brass and HDGPP competitions, where he won first and second prizes at regional and national competitions. Also, he joins the DVD Kašina brass band in his hometown.
In 2014, he entered the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of associate professor of art. Marin Zokić and in 2019, he is finishing the university's integrated undergraduate and graduate studies for instrumentalists, majoring in trumpet, and has earned the title of Master of Music. During his studies, he participated several times in the International Davorin Jenko competition in Belgrade, where he won first prizes. He improved at seminars with respected domestic and international soloists: Vale Paul Goodchild, Marco Pierobon, Rex Richardson, Stanko Arnorld, Dario Teskera, Jure Gradišnik. He performed as a soloist accompanied by the Wind Orchestra of the Music Academy and the Orchestra of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, with whom he continued to collaborate. He also collaborated with the Orchestra of the Croatian National Opera in Zagreb and the Orchestra of the Zagreb Philharmonic.
He has been working at the Zlatko Baloković Music School in Zaprešić since 2019.
