Luka Vlašić, prof.
Luka Vlašić was born in 1983 in Požega, where he completed primary and secondary music school. He graduated in the class of professor Goran Listeš at the Art Academy of the University of Split. He won prizes at regional and national competitions as a soloist and member of chamber ensembles.
He improved his skills at the master classes of eminent world guitarists: Costas Cotsiolis, Carlo Marchione, Pavel Steidl, Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukić, Denis Azabagić, Marco Tamayo, Marcin Dylla, etc., and lutenist Hopkinson Smith.
Apart from Croatia, he also performed in Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Arab Emirates. Composers Mark William Houghton and Vesna Kazensky dedicated their guitar works to him.
During his studies, he started teaching guitar and chamber music at the Music School of Josip Hatze in Split. After completing his studies, he goes to Dubai where he teaches at the Center for Musical Arts.
He currently lives in Zagreb, where he is employed at the Zlatko Baloković Music School. He is a permanent lecturer at the Sarajevo International Guitar Festival Summer School, where he leads student and student orchestras.
