Andrea Perić, Prof.

Andrea Perić was born in Zagreb in 1974, where she finished the 7th gymnasium in Zagreb and elementary and secondary Music School "Functional Music Pedagogy". In 2000 she graduated at the Music Academy in Zagreb, at the 2nd Department of Musicology. During the academic year 1997/98, she was awarded a special rector's prize for "Completion of the Designing and Cataloging the Music Archives in Dubrovnik".

From 1999 to 2003 she worked at the Elly Bašić Music School, where she taught theoretical subjects and worked in the library.

Since 2003 she has been working at the Zlatko Baloković Music College, as the history of music and theory professor. As well she is the chief librarian of the college's phonoteque and sheet music collection. She continued her training at Richard Frostick's workshop in Varaždin and has participated in the Orff workshop in Zagreb.

Her pedagogical work is largely based on a method that extends from the experience of music phenomena to the awareness and knowledge. Such a form of work involves various methodical games, visual and literary music experiences, and creative approaches to teaching.
